A large suitcase costs $10,000,000 and allows you to carry 4 more items with you when you travel. For someone who travels for flowers or other items, this seems quite appealing. By default a player can carry 5 items at a time. The flower costs are fixed but the market price is variable, therefore profits are variable.
My example market prices are only examples. The price flowers sell at may be higher or lower in real time.
Location | Flower Cost | Market Price | Visits |
Mexico | 300 | 4,000 | 676 |
Canada | 600 | 12,000 | 220 |
Cayman | 4,000 | 13,000 | 277 |
Hawaii | 700 | 35,000 | 72 |
UK | 5,000 | 57,000 | 48 |
Switzerland | 900 | 5,000 | 610 |
Argentina | 500 | 65,000 | 39 |
Japan | 500 | 70,000 | 36 |
China | 5000 | 80,000 | 34 |
UAE | 6,000 | 89,000 | 31 |
South Africa | 2,000 | 58,000 | 44 |
"Visits" is calculated by cost of Large Suitcase divided by the profit (Market Price - Flower Cost) of 4 flowers. In other words, if you picked one destination to travel to exclusively to buy 4 extra of that flower, it would take that many visits for the profits from those extra flowers to pay for the suitcase.
Although it's nice to see a larger number in your events of people purchasing from your bazaar, the Large Suitcase takes a long time to pay itself off.
Notice this table does not include travel time. Assume you have access to a Private Island with it's own airstrip and pilot. Ignoring the cost of those completely, The United Kingdom is over a 3 1/2 hr round trip. The earliest you would see a return on profit for the suitcase would be after a week of gameplay, assuming you never slept for more than 1 hour and 47 minutes at a time. The UAE, which is the least amount of trips, is still over 6 hours round trip. This could be done in around 8 days of gameplay if you were never asleep for over 3 hours.
Ignoring the extreme cases, taking one trip per day on the plane would take a month of daily Dubai (UAE) visits to pay off the suitcase (using only the extra income from the extra flowers).
Of course there are other ways of making money in this game, but if you're running flowers as your main source of income and aren't an incredibly active player, this guide should help you decide whether you want to drop the big bucks on the suitcase.
EDIT:
After purchasing my large suitcase, it took roughly 3 weeks of logging in only to travel and buy flowers to have the profit of the extra 4 flowers per trip account for the $10,000,000 spent on the suitcase. The points update which raised the market cap to 100,000 per point, effectively boosting flower prices as well as set prices (now roughly $750,000/set).
